Paula Szuchman is the Managing Producer for Audio at New York Times Opinion. She started the department in late March 2020, after lockdown, and has since launched three podcasts: Sway, The Argument and The Ezra Klein Show. Paula was previously the head of new podcast development at WNYC Studios, where her credits include Scattered, American Fiasco, Nancy, 2 Dope Queens, Sooo Many White Guys, Late Night Whenever and This Podcast Has Fleas. Paula started her career as a print journalist. She was a reporter and Page One editor at The Wall Street Journal, deputy managing editor at Newsweek and managing editor at The Daily Beast. She’s the co-author of “Spousonomics: Using Economics to Master Love, Marriage, and Dirty Dishes released by Random House in 2010.
