Meet the duo behind RedHanded the smash hit true crime podcast!
Suruthi Bala graduated from The University of Birmingham with a BSc and MSc in Economics, she knew the world of finance fun wasn’t for her, so she went into the exciting, but relentlessly tiring world of corporate events! After a short break, where she travelled Asia and South America mostly on her own, she came home to start the true crime podcast – RedHanded.
Hannah Maguire thought she was going to be an actor, then like many she was a teacher and then like not so many, she wound up co-hosting a smash hit true crime podcast RedHanded. On a whim Hannah studied Social Anthropology at SOAS, because she thought it would make her sound interesting. She was right, but it also lent her an anthropological appetite to understand why people do what they do, and served as motivation to start the true crime podcast – RedHanded.
Fast forward 4 years – and after almost 200 episodes of RedHanded and a true crime book – the show is now an internationally renowned hit podcast. RedHanded was also Spotify’s number 1 most popular true crime podcast in the UK in 2020, and the show even landed silver place in the Listeners’ Choice category at the British Podcast Awards in 2020!
