The Receipts, Fearne Cotton, NPR and more added to Podcast Day 24 Line-Up

Podcast Day 24 is pleased to announce the first in a worldwide line up of amazing speakers. Joining in this round the world tour of podcast markets are speakers from all areas of podcasting, some very special guests and a few surprises. To kick off we would like to introduce the first speakers at the first Podcast Day 24 and we are very excited!

Tolani Shoneye, Audrey Indome, and Milena Sanchez – also known as The Receipts – have taken their hit show from early commercial success, onto the BBC and to its new home as a Spotify exclusive.  Here they talk about the deals and partnerships that made their show a hit with audiences as well as a successful business.

Happy Place star and creator, Fearne Cotton will be talking about the success of her mental-health podcast and what she thinks has contributed to the show’s success, in conversation with Holly Bott, Managing Director of Entertainment at YMU Group, who represents a vast array of UK and US talent that has driven the celebrity podcast boom. 

NPR’s Tamar Charney, the Senior Director of Collaborative Journalism and Neal Carruth, the Senior Director of On-Demand News will tell Podcast Day 24 how they’ve localised ‘Consider This”. Find out more about NPR’s work in creating local and national news experiences beyond broadcast radio. 

Knud Brix is Denmark’s number one podcaster as the host of Genstart (Restart), the Danish Broadcasting Corporation’s successful news podcast. 

BBC Five Live’s Dan Maudsely, the producer of British Podcast Awards gold-winner Paradise joins the conference to talk about making Paradise and his new show that explores the perils of ‘friendly fire’ in On The Ground.

Peter Niegel, Podcast Day 24 said “This announcement is the first of a long list of worldwide speakers who will join us on the 7th June. We are looking forward to bringing you content which is interesting, insightful and gives you information and ideas you can take back to help you and your podcast or family of podcasts. While we don’t expect you to watch in all time zones we are making all of the content available on Catch Up so that it’s available to you after the event or at a time when you want to watch it – we know it will be bingeworthy!”.

Matt Deegan, from the British Podcast Awards says: “Podcasters have told us they want to be inspired and informed by our speakers, we’re determined to create a line-up that covers creativity, marketing, advertising and platforms and will truly help any podcaster or podcasting business grow and develop.”

We are also offering a bursary scheme for Podcast Day 24 we are keen to ensure all parts of the podcast community are able to watch and participate in the event. To ensure this is the case we are allocating a number of free tickets to our bursary scheme to allow those who have barriers which may prevent them from attending, including financial constraints. We’re keen to encourage applicants who are currently underrepresented in the podcast sector – this may include, but is not limited to: people with disabilities, LGBTQ+, people from ethnic minority backgrounds, women and carers.
